Maengwyn is a very welcoming detached farmhouse dating back to about 1820.
It's packed full of traditional features, quirky character, local art and crafts combined with all the modern comforts we know and love.
Set in the heart of the Pembrokeshire National Park just off the A487 between/Dinas Cross (1/2 mile) and Newport (2 miles) with their individual shops, pubs and eateries, this is a perfect holiday base.
The coastal path is just a 20 minute walk from the house through a wooded valley with a high waterfall to Aberfforest beach.
Part of one of the 3 organic hay and flower meadows to the rear of the garden has been planted with heritage apple trees. You can wander freely through the mown meadow paths of each field and enjoy lovely coastal views of Newport Bay.
Beehives, marsh orchids and shallow ponds mean that there is abundant wildlife in this semi-natural habitat.
The owners, who have lived here for 45 years, are happy to share their extensive knowledge of their land and the natural history of Pembrokeshirewith their guests.
Entrance is into the Boot/Laundry room which has plenty of space for coats and walking and beach paraphernalia.
There is a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
The large open plan kitchen /dining room is very light and airy with French doors leading out to the garden.
The KITCHEN has an oak floor and fitted wooden units with double oven, ceramic hob, side by side fridge and freezer, microwave and dishwasher.
There is a breakfast bar with 3 stools.
The DINING AREA has a farmhouse pine table with 8 chairs, Welsh dresser and bookshelf with several 100 Ladybird children's books.
The comfortable and cosy SITTING ROOM spans the whole width of the house and has exposed beams.
At each end of the room is a woodburning stove, one of which is set in a lovely large inglenook fireplace with an armchair each side; the other stove is in a tiled fireplace.
The room is furnished in a traditional Welsh 'Parlour' style with armchairs and sofa, Welsh dresser, very well stocked bookshelf, TV, DVD player and occasional furniture.
There are Welsh blanket throws and local art to complete the traditional feel.
Stairs lead from the sitting room to the spacious landing and 4 bedrooms.
Bedrooms 1 & 2 are at the front of the house with views over the road to woodland and the coast beyond. Bedrooms 3 & 4 overlook the rear garden and meadow.
BEDROOM 1 has a king size bed, bedside cabinets, built in wardrobe with dressing table and an armchair.
BEDROOM 2 is full of character with the chimney breast rising through the room.
This area has been made into a reading space for children with cushions and books aplenty.

BEDROOM 4 has a double bed, bedside cabinets, fitted corner wardrobe, dressing table and chair.
